The straight answer to this question would be, it impacts your life in many ways; like- Mind chatter can make you feel low, affect your health, can be an obstacle in making you successful.

So, when I was dealing with the fight between me and my mind, I went to platforms like Google, Quora, and Reddit to understand the psychology of the mind.

And I found that- the best way to control it is by knowing how the mind works.

How does the mind work?

Let’s start by quoting an old phrase,” practice makes a man perfect.” If you sleep 8 hours a day and give 16 hours to practice something, it will surely make you good at it.

In the same way, if you think negatively during those 16 hours, undoubtedly, you will excel in it. And this practice will always give you negative energy.

Not only this, but it can impact your mind and affect your health as well. Instead of practicing mind chatter, try to calm your mind.

If you want, you can control the thoughts running in your head, and to do this; there are some simple steps that need to be followed.

If you have a better knowledge of how the mind works, it will be easy to know how to control the mind.

So, now the question arises – How to control the mind?

How to Control the Mind?

The best way to have control over the mind is to acknowledge your thoughts, realize which type of thinker you are and what is making you think it.

If you value your thoughts, it will become easy to know what is the leading cause of your mind chatter.

Also, you can do something that encourages you to get motivated in life. Doing this can help you to be the best.

Apart from this, try to engage yourself in doing what you love because it depends on you how you spend your 16 hours every day.

Here are some practical ways which I did, and you can also do to get control over your mind naturally. Let’s explore them one by one.

#Technique 1

Observe your thoughts

The first thing you need to do is to observe your thoughts. It can help you to know what all things you want in life and what is impacting you the most.

Because, if you know what you want, you can work on it. On the other hand, if you are confused and you don’t know what you are looking for, eventually you will give up on it.

So, observe your thoughts and watch which thought is giving you more stress. Then start working on it.

Also, you can give yourself time to know your inner self. By doing this, you will see a good change in your life.

Here are the steps that you can follow to observe your thoughts

1. Pen down your mind

To add more on how to control the mind you can write down all the thoughts running in your mind. And then start analyzing which thought is giving you more stress.

Penning down your thoughts is just as saying talking to someone. Also, it could give you a relaxing feeling, as well.

2. Talk to your self

The next thing to know how to control the mind is, talking to yourself. It can give you a lot of understanding of your own thoughts. And it could be the best option for you to analyze what you are thinking and which thought is disturbing you the most. On top of this, it could also make you strong.

3.  Believe in yourself

Now the most important thing is to have faith in yourself. If you want to know how to control the mind, I would recommend you to believe in what you are doing is right.

It will help you in choosing the right path for you. If you have faith in yourself, you can accomplish big things in life. Plus, you can also make yourself feel worthy. 

4. Respect your self

The fourth thing to know is that you should respect yourself. It will solve half of your problems which you face in your daily life.

If you give respect to your self, you can be happier than you think. Like you respect others, respect yourself as well. It will make you feel worthy.

Learn to Meditate

Meditation is the most powerful thing that can control your mind chatter. Even 5 minutes of meditation can work like wonders.


Also, it will help you in making your life great. And the best part is it is the way to attract things in your life. But, if you want the best results, try doing it every and bring happiness to your life. 

If you give time to do this exercise, it can aid you to do big things in life. And once you are prepared for it, you have the opportunity to do great things in life. Bring this to your daily routine to bring peace to your life. 

Here are the three steps that I did to manifest my dream and brought peace to my life. If you, too, want peace in your life, you can follow the steps mentioned below.

1. Express Gratitude

Saying Thank you to God for all the things you have in your life right now, is the best way to give your mind a peaceful feeling.

If you often say thank you to God, you will manifest all the good things in your life. Also, it could make you joyful.

2. Calm your mind with music

Control your mind by listing to music. Music could be the best way to relax your mind. It is the therapy that helped me in taking control of the mind. If you, too, want to control your mind, listen to music that can calm your mind. If you want the perfect solution for the question – how to control the mind, then listening to music can be the best one.

3. Be Cheerful

Being cheerful is the best way to move on in life. It gives you an option to make your life blissful and joyful. Live your life the way you want, and bring happiness to your life. With cheerfulness, you can know how to control the mind in a positive way, which is again a good sign to bring peace to your life.

4. Spend less time with toxic people

In the journey of how to control the mind, I would recommend you spend less time with people who are not happy with their life. These kinds of people can leave a negative impact on your life, which is not good for your mind.

#Technique 3

Entertain your self

Some craziness in life could make your life joyful. Enjoying life to the fullest can make you smile and refresh your mind as well.

You can create happy moments to live a happy life. Besides, you can spend time with your friends, go shopping, watch something that makes you laugh and so on.

Fun elements can help you in shaping your life the way you want. Also, it could help you to grow in life, which can fulfill your dreams.

Apart from this, you can also make videos with friends and add some fun elements to them.

Being childish can help you to bring a smile to your face. Also, you can go to your friend’s place to chit-chat and spend quality time with them.

Here are the three steps that you should follow to entertain yourself.

1. Spend time with loved ones

Spend your time with people who understand you and your thoughts. Share your feelings only to those you trust the most. This one thing will let you understand how to control the mind.

It could help you to bring the best out of yourself. Not only this, spending time with your loved ones can release your stress as well.

2. Smile

Find people who can make you smile and laugh. People who appreciate you and who can bring a smile to your face are the gems in your life.

You can also find other ways and make your self happy. Try to Smile every time you feel you are not happy. You can try this simple trick to fool your brain. It really works!

3. Play Games

You can play games of interest to your loved ones. If you do not find anyone to play with, you can play games with computers as well.

Also, if you want, you can play online with anyone in the world. The benefit of this is you can meet new people and make friends as well. 

The Bottom Line

So, these were some of the techniques that I applied to learn how to control the mind. If you also want to control your mind, you can try these simple steps to make your life worthwhile.

And, when you are on this journey, do not give up in 1 or 2 days, thinking that it’s not working for you. It may take a few days to retrain your mind because “practice makes a man perfect,” so just chill and be on this journey to get control over your mind.
